Congrats Grad!

I only know one person graduating this year, which is a big change for our family. But here is a simple card I created to celebrate.

The background paper is pretty busy, so I left the card simple. I just added dewdrops from Ribbon Girl and red and black twine to decorate. Inside I stamped "Congratulations."

My Little Owl

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I found an adorable owl hat on Etsy. I ordered it pretty quickly, and after she was born, my husband took pictures of her in the little hat. I finally scrapbooked some of those pictures.

I used Create a Critter for the owl and the title. I also used a border punch, gem and stickers to finish off the layout.

The owl background paper was left over after making her first birthday thank-you cards. Her party was an owl theme. I can't believe she will be 2 next month!

Going Gray... and Yellow

I really liked the sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack that I used for my last card, so I decided to use it again. This time, I made a wedding card with fun paper I bought last year and have been hoarding.

I cut the squares from George and Basic Shapes and turned them to look like a wedding cake. I then added two kinds of chevron ribbon to the layers. I finished it off with silver pearls. Here is the inside of the card:

Patriotic Tribute

In honor of Memorial Day and all who serve our country, I created a patriotic card as a tribute.

I followed a sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack and used George and Basic Shapes to cut the squares. I used two types of star patterned paper that I've had for a while, and added red and white ribbon. I finished it off with a few gems.

Inside the card I added another sentiment. Both stamps are rubber stamps that don't get enough use.

Smile!

My niece is turning 18, so I wanted to make her a girly but not childish card. Here's what I came up with.

I followed a sketch from My Time to Craft and used the Cricut Sampler cartridge for the camera. I stamped the sentiment and added ribbon and buttons to finish off the card. Here is the inside:

Lucky Duck

I made this little duck for a different project, but didn't end up using it. He was just sitting there on my table, so I decided to put him to work.

I created this simple birthday card using Create a Critter for the duck and birthday hat and George and Basic Shapes for the balloons. Inside the card I added another birthday hat and stamped a birthday sentiment.

Summer Fun

A few nights ago I was working on several projects and ended up with a pretty good scrap pile in front of me. I challenged myself to create a card using that pile.

I came up with a mini card (3.5 x 4) inspired by our trip to Corpus Christi last weekend. My daughter had so much fun playing in the sand.

I used Simply Charmed for the sun and pail cuts. The tiny shells are from a punch I bought last year and finally used for the first time.

I added a fun sentiment inside the card. All of the stamps are from a rubber cling set I found on clearance at Tuesday Morning.

Pretty Lady

I love anything with ladybugs, so when I find cute paper, I have to get it. I made a birthday card using my latest find, inspired by a sketch from Seize the Birthday.

The ladybug is from the Paisley cartridge and I used felt for the rolled flowers. I added gems and ribbon to finish off the card.

Inside the card I added another ladybug and birthday sentiment.

Baby Girl Tag

A few weeks ago I posted the card and gift for Baby M. Well, she's here and doing well! I decided to use George and Basic Shapes to make a tag out of the scraps from that project. I want to add this to a small gift.

I used the same designer paper and stamped the sentiment. The baby is also a stamp that I paper pieced. I've never tried that technique, but I've been wanting to, so I started (really) small. The flower is made of felt, and I added a pink pearl in the middle. Pink and white twine finished off the tag.

Birthday Blooms

I recently bought the Cricut Sampler cartridge and was eager to use it. The cartridge has a few cuts from several different cartridges, so it's a fun mix. I made a quick birthday card to try it out.

I cut the watering can and added the sunflowers to it. A little ribbon and buttons from my stash finished it off.

Just Ducky

My husband's cousin is due with her first baby in June, and her baby shower is this weekend. We will be out of town and unable to attend, but we are sending along a gift and well-wishes with family.

The gifts we bought the baby have ducks on them, so I wanted the card to follow that theme.

I used the Cricut Sampler cartridge for the outfit and stamped the duck. I was able to use three different patterned papers on this card. Buttons and ribbon added the finishing touches. I just bought this ribbon, but the buttons have been in my stash for almost a year, so I'm happy to use them up. Here is the inside of the card:

You're the Best

A friend and coworker recently designed a logo for my husband to use on a T-shirt. The design was great, and we are so appreciative.

I made a 4x4 card to go along with a gift to thank her for her help.

I used George and Basic Shapes for the flowers and added a brad that says "You're the Best." Then I stamped the sentiment and swirl. I also embossed the edges of the card for a little dimension.

Inside the card I added another flower and gem.

Pawsitive Birthday

A coworker recently had a birthday, so I made a fun card for her. She loves her pets, and even fosters some for a local animal shelter, so I wanted to make a card that reflected her passion.

I used Create a Critter for the animals and Formal Occasion for the banner.

I put the cuts on foam tape for dimension and added red and white twine. Inside the card I added another cute patterned paper. I've had both papers for a while, and I was excited to finally use them.

Purple Princess

Last weekend we went to a princess birthday party for a three-year-old. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite princess is Rapunzel, so it was very girly. They even had someone dressed as Rapunzel playing games and having a tea party with the kids. My daughter had a blast.

Here is the card I made for the birthday girl.

I used the Formal Occasion cartridge for the tiara and wand cut. I also used glitter and metallic papers for extra sparkle. Then I finished it off with a few gems and ribbon. Here is the inside of the card:

Mother's Day Card for MIL

Mother's Day is on Sunday, so I created a card for my mother-in-law, because I know my husband hasn't even given it any thought. : )

I used a sketch from Cricut Fanatics for the layout. The flower was cut from Formal Occasion.

I love the colors on the Citrus paper. I just bought it yesterday during my lunch break, and I had to use it right away. I used glitter glue all over the rose and added a little ribbon bow. I've had that ribbon for almost five years (crazy!) and I have just a bit of it left. Then I added a few gems inside and out. The sentiment inside is from Simply Charmed.

Thanks!

Sun and Friendship

I found this stamp mixed in with my collection and decided to put it to use. I think I've only used it one other time before.

This is a "just because" card that would be perfect to send to a good friend.

The sun is from Simply Charmed and the tag is from George and Basic Shapes. I added ribbon and glitter glue for the glasses.

Bright Birthday

I'm always trying to build up my birthday card stash, so I decided to join the sketch challenge at Seize the Birthday.

I used bright, fun paper and cut the circles from Alphalicious. I added ribbon and a gem, and I've had both of those for at least a year, so it's time to use them up. This card came together pretty quickly. I left the inside simple.

 Thanks!

Rose for a Rose

This year my mom's birthday falls on Mother's Day, and I wanted to create a card that celebrated both. Her name is Rosalinda (beautiful rose), so I wanted a card to play off of that.

I used Rock Princess for the rose cut, which included a lot of layers. This was the first project I made with that cartridge, so it took a little getting used to. The banner is from Formal Occasion, and the letters are from Happy Hauntings. Luckily I was able to use up a lot of scraps.

The background paper has a lot going on, so I just added a little sparkle to the rose and left the rest alone. I also put the banner and rose on foam tape for dimension.

I left the card blank inside since it is for Mother's Day and her birthday, so it has plenty of room for me to write a note. But I might go back and add a sentiment.

Thanks!

Fiesta!

Fiesta just wrapped up here in San Antonio. It is a great celebration filled with food, parades and a carnival.

My daughter's day care celebrated by having its own parade. Each child created a "float" made from a shoebox. Then each class walked around the school showing the others kids their creations. It was adorable.

My daughter is only 21 months, so she needed some help, but she had a blast making her float. We worked on it over a few days, and she was so excited.

I used Pretty Pennants and Alphalicious for the banner. The digi image of the dancing bears is from Paper Crafting World.

Here is my Madelyn working on her float. She colored the digi with crayons, glued the paper and flowers to the box, and added glitter glue to the banner.

I was lucky enough to leave work for a bit to see the parade. It was the cutest thing. All of the kids were so proud of themselves and loved showing off their floats.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Tag

Mother's Day is coming up in a few weeks, and this year, it falls on the same day as my mom's birthday. So, it will be extra festive this year.

I made a quick tag for one of her gifts using George and Basic Shapes for the tag and Formal Occasion for the flowers.

I stamped butterflies and the sentiment. I added a little glitter glue in gold and purple, which were $1 bin finds. I get these whenever I can, but I need to use them more. I used the gold for the first time. I finished off the tag with twine.

Pretty simple. Now I have to think about a card.

Baby M is Coming

My sister-in-law is having a baby girl soon, and her baby shower is this weekend. I made a picture frame with her daughter's initial and a matching card.

I used Simply Charmed for the baby and cut the background mat from Formal Occasion. I added ribbon and put glitter glue on the carriage. I also added pearls to the wheels. I found those pearls in the $1 at Michaels, and I've had them for years. I also put the carriage on foam tape for dimension.

Inside the card I added another mat and a sentiment.

I also made a frame for one of her gifts. I've made these before, and they always get a great reaction.

The frame is black, so it's hard to see, especially since I took the pictures really late at night. I used Alphalicious for the letters and added ribbon to the frame. The baby shower theme and baby's room is ballet, so I added ballet slippers to the letter. I think they are from The Paper Studio.

I hope my sister-in-law likes her gifts.

Thanks
