My Little Owl

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I found an adorable owl hat on Etsy. I ordered it pretty quickly, and after she was born, my husband took pictures of her in the little hat. I finally scrapbooked some of those pictures.

I used Create a Critter for the owl and the title. I also used a border punch, gem and stickers to finish off the layout.

The owl background paper was left over after making her first birthday thank-you cards. Her party was an owl theme. I can't believe she will be 2 next month!

Thanks

Lucky Duck

I made this little duck for a different project, but didn't end up using it. He was just sitting there on my table, so I decided to put him to work.

I created this simple birthday card using Create a Critter for the duck and birthday hat and George and Basic Shapes for the balloons. Inside the card I added another birthday hat and stamped a birthday sentiment.

Pawsitive Birthday

A coworker recently had a birthday, so I made a fun card for her. She loves her pets, and even fosters some for a local animal shelter, so I wanted to make a card that reflected her passion.

I used Create a Critter for the animals and Formal Occasion for the banner.

I put the cuts on foam tape for dimension and added red and white twine. Inside the card I added another cute patterned paper. I've had both papers for a while, and I was excited to finally use them.

Pretty in Pink Tri-Fold Card

A few coworkers have birthdays in May, so I decided to get a head start on making cards for them.

I found this really great floral paper and decided to create a tri-fold card to show off as much of it as possible.

The center mat was cut from the Formal Occasion Cricut cartridge. The glittery butterfly is a chip board piece that I've had for a while. Then I just added pearls in the corners.

Inside the card, I used Create a Critter for the sentiment. I left a lot of open space for other coworkers to sign.

Thanks!

Ahoy!

My goddaughter is turning 3 this weekend, and we're so excited. She is having a pirate-themed party, so I wanted to make a fun birthday card for her.

I used Create a Critter for the octopus and phrase. I left off the skull on the pirate hat and added a 3 using Alphalicious. After that I decided the card was still missing something. So I made the balloon using George and Basic Shapes and used twine to tie it to the octopus.

I also used glitter glue to add sparkle to the balloon and #3. The octopus and balloon are on foam tape for dimension.

Thanks!

Under the Weather, Part 2

I really liked how my last card came out, so I decided to make another, more masculine, version. I like to have these kinds of cards in my stash in case I ever need them.

I used Create a Critter for the umbrella and cloud. I also added ribbon and bling for the raindrops. I raised the umbrella and cloud with foam tape for dimension.

Under the Weather

April is here and it brought its showers to San Antonio this week, so I decided to make a card inspired by the weather.

I used Paisley for the umbrella and Create a Critter for the cloud. I also added gems to look like falling rain. I love those little things, but I don't have very many. So I think I have to add more to my collection.

I also added another cloud on the inside.

Thanks

Baby's First Easter

With Easter coming up this weekend, I wanted to share the layout I created recently from last year. (Sorry for the poor-quality photos. I'm finding it difficult to photograph layouts.)

I used Create a Critter for the bunny and stickers for the title. I also added ribbon and used a border punch for details. All of the embellishments are from my stash, and most are about two years old.

It was my daughter's first Easter, so we went a little overboard with her "basket." I used a storage container for all her goodies, and now the cube holds some of her toys.

Thanks!

Feels Like Spring

I am so excited because my card today is being featured on Use it Tuesday, which is a great challenge blog that encourages you to use your craft stash.

The theme this week was all about spring, and I couldn't wait to go through my horded supplies to make my card.

I have had the dark pink paper I used for the base for almost two years. The patterned paper was part of a prize package, and it is the only sheet I have, so I've been saving it. I even made a 6x6 card to make sure I used as much as possible. Here is a close-up of the paper. I thought it was perfect for the challenge!

I used pink and green twine, and both were unopened packages before I used them for this card. The "hello" stamp was un-inked, even though I've had that for more than a year. The star brad on the pinwheel was also from an unopened package I've had for about two years. The tag was cut from George and Basic Shapes on my Cricut.

Inside the card I added another pinwheel from the Create a Critter cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you join the fun at Use it Tuesday.

Little Easter Lamb

I set out to make an Easter card, but I wanted to use something other than the classic bunny or chick. So I looked through Create a Critter and found the cute little lamb.

The tree and Easter basket are also from Create a Critter. I hand-cut the grass at the bottom of the card. Finally, I dug through my stash to find a few pearls to use on the bows and as "eggs" in the basket.

Thanks!

Go Fly a Kite -- We Did!

A few weeks ago we went to the Zilker Park Kite Festival in Austin. It is a great event and we had a blast, even though one of our kites ended up in a tree.

Last year was my daughter's first time at the event, and I was reminded that I haven't added those pictures to her scrapbook. So here's the layout from last year's festival.

I used Create a Critter for the kites and Simply Charmed for the phrase "take flight" at the bottom. I used stickers for the title and added coordinating ribbon.

We used that tiny ladybug kite again this year, and we were much better flying it. We could barely get it off the ground last year. We had a bigger version of the ladybug this year, but that was the one that ended up in a tree.

Negative to Positive

I was going through my patterned papers recently, doing a little inventory of what I have. I came across a lovely paper covered in flowers that I've never used before and was inspired.

My favorite color is red, especially a bright, cheery red, and I love how the flowers remind me of wildflowers that are starting to pop up as the weather warms up here. I cut the flowers from Create a Critter, but I used the negative of the cut. I then put coordinating paper behind it.

The mat for the stamp is also from Create a Critter. I finished off the card with red ribbon and gems for the flowers. Inside the card I used the positive part of the cut.

Thanks

Birthday Bear

The Just Us Girls blog is featuring a sketch challenge, and I decided to use it to make a birthday card. I've been trying to build my stash little by little, so I came up with this bright, cheery card perfect for a little boy.

The bear and hat are from Create a Critter. I put the bear on foam tape for a little dimension, and added the yellow gems.

Franken-Birthday

My dad's birthday was on March 1, and he likes to make a big deal about it. I wanted to make a card that would make him laugh, so this is what I came up with.

My dad's favorite holiday is Halloween, and his favorite character is Frankenstein, so I knew he would love this. It also gave me a chance to use my new Happy Hauntings cartridge. I've been eyeing it for a while, and finally snagged it on eBay. I thought I would have to wait until the fall to use it, but I found a way to use it sooner.

The gift bag, party hat and thought bubbles are from Create a Critter. I also added glitter glue for some sparkle, and the cuts are on foam tape for dimension.

Hoppy Easter

With Easter coming in March this year, I wanted to start on cards. This is a quick card I made using Create a Critter.

The cute bunny is holding an Easter basket, and I used glitter glue to look like eggs. The grass is on foam tape for a little dimension.

I added ribbon and this cute stamp that I used for the first time. It's a really simple card, but not bad for my first one of the year.

Thanks

Get Well Treat

My husband had family visiting from out of town last week. I had never met them before, so it was nice going out to dinner and getting to know them. Unfortunately, the reason they were in town was because their 1-year-old girl needed surgery.

Luckily, everything turned out fine, and I wanted to make something special for her. I decided to make a matchbook card with a treat. I've never made anything like this before, but I wanted to give it a try.

I used Alphalicious for the matchbook cut and Create a Critter for the ladybug and grass. The grass is on foam squares for a little dimension.

Inside the card, I add fruit snacks and attached the bag with glue dots.

Here is a close up of the sentiment.

Thanks.

Let's Rodeo!

My daughter is almost 19 months old, and I have been seriously slacking on her scrapbook. I started it while I was still pregnant, but after she arrived, I put it on the back burner.

When I started this scrapbook, it was my first attempt at real scrapbooking, and I wanted the whole thing to be cohesive. So I am using the same paper pack and colors throughout.

Now I'm trying to finish it up before her second birthday, so I've been trying to do one to two pages a week.

Here in San Antonio, it is rodeo time. We went last week, and that spurred me to scrapbook last year's trip.

I used this sketch that I found on Pinterest and Create a Critter to create the layout.

The horse and other cuts were perfect for the rodeo layout. I also added glitter glue.

Sweet 15

My cousin had her Quinceanera, a sweet 15 party, over the weekend. There were sparkles and teenagers everywhere!

Her main color was purple and had a stars theme. This is the card I made for her. (Sorry for the horrible picture.)

The "Sweet" is from Create a Critter. The tiara is from Paisley. I cut two of them and layered with pop dots. The "15" is from George and Basic Shapes. I added ribbon, gems and glitter glue for extra sparkle. Because the party had a star theme, I added the little star brads. They also are glittery.  I've had that little pack of brads for about two years. I'm glad I remembered them and pulled them out for this project.

Inside the card, I added more stars.

Thanks.

Sweet Valentines

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! I wanted to quickly share the treats I made for my coworkers. I made these little bags filled with goodies using Create a Critter, Paisley, Simply Charmed and George and Basic Shapes. I them embellished with twine, ribbon and glitter glue.

This is the first time I've made these little bags, but they were a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed the sweets.

Thanks!
